Aaaaggghhhhh who can deny that waking up to the early morning glow, snow flurries, 66 howling dogs, freshly baked banana muffins and the smell of coffee… is not enjoyable?
Today was all about single track, technical skills downhill on a sled, dodging the almighty dog poos and enjoying the swish sound of the sled on freshly fallen snow… that coupled with blue skies, the sun peeking out behind the lifting clouds and behind surrounded by large snow capped hills… oh yes, thats right – we are really in the last frontier… the Yukon continues to charm us with its beautyand magic… we are just waiting on the moose and caribou to appear and the trip will be complete… once again the lunch spot was incredible as were the toasted sandwiches and the homemade chocolate chip cookies complete with hot chocolate… did someone say expedition 🙂
At the stage, the group would be pretty stoked if this was heaven… and of course… how can you not love a gorgeous Alaskan Husky who gets excited about pulling you around on a sled all day?
Weather you ask… a balmy minus 17 degrees… 🙂 Dog Sledding Heaven continues with our expedition out to the yurt camp tomorrow…
